About LSHC
The Lone Star Havanese Club began as nothing more than a "wouldn't this be a great idea" sort of thought in the minds of several local Havanese fanciers in Texas. After deciding to pursue this idea, we met for dinner in July, 2002 following both the San Antonio river Center shows as well as the Houston Reliant Center Cluster. From those two dinners emerged the charter members of the Lone Star Havanese Club - Cherie Belcher, Susan Carrington, Carol Hutton, Joan Little, Eileen Santman, Jeri Strain and Jane Vollers.
LSHC hosted the HCA National Specialty held in Houston in 2004. Since then there has been some growing pains as Texas is a big state!! There is now a club in the Dallas area - Red River Havanese Club. There is also a club in the process of forming from Houston to Baton Rouge, Louisiana called Gulf Coast Havanese Club. We try to have several get togethers every year. This November we hope to see you at the Belton show.
